To lessen our environmental impact,
we have multiple processes in place to help us
reduce and conserve consumption.

Food By-Product

Since 2013, we’ve partnered with ReConserve to turn food by-product into livestock feed. Learn more about ReConserve.

433 TONS
of food by-product turned
into livestock feed in FY2021

Recycling

We have recycling in all TH Foods facilities to reduce the amount of waste for trash pickup. We recycle the following items:

  • Old Corrugated Containers (OCC)
  • Old Corrugated Cores
  • Plastic Film
  • Plastic Caps

Lighting

All four production plants use LED lighting to provide more efficient lighting that conserve energy.

Natural Gas Audit

Routine audits are performed to reduce natural gas consumption through proper repairs and maintenance, and as a result, reduce the amount of natural gas used year-over-year. In 2022, there was a 11% reduction in therm usage in 1 of our production facilities, resulting in a 3% reduction in therms across all 4 production facilities.

Equipment Efficiency Checks
and Oil Analysis

We perform routine equipment efficiency health checks to ensure proper equipment functionality. This includes equipment condition, energy reduction, and cost opportunities, along with possible design improvements. These routine checks reduce energy and oil consumption on a year-over-year basis by ensuring equipment is up-to-date and running properly. Additionally, we perform program audits that focus on proper equipment settings, achieving performance targets and cleanliness of all equipment.
